Hi all,
Does anyone know of a safe and legal location in or around Clermont County where one can practice with a .22?
Western Clermont or even Eastern Brown county would do.
I am planning on hitting the Appleseed in Crittenden, Ky after Thanksgiving with my daughter but would like to get a little practice in before the event.
If anyone is interested I would welcome help/company. I have a couple of .22 rifles that I have not had the chance to fire. I would like to make sure they work OK before the event and also gain some familiarity with them.
Thanks!
Another thought.
I see there is an event scheduled for this weekend (11/10/2012) in Zanesville.
It does not look like there are people registered for the event. Will it still be held, say if I am the only one? LOL.
It is an outside shot that I could attend but maybe....
Thanks
Hey goodoldfriend, welcome to the Appleseed forum.
There's a wonderful range just south of Wilmington called the Clermont County Farmer's and Sportsman's Association. They host us for Appleseed events on their 200 yard rifle range. They also have 25, 50 and 100 yard rifle/pistol ranges, a cowboy town, trap/skeet, the best archery range I've seen, woods to hike/hunt, and even two fishing ponds. You get all that for $65 a year. Best value in Ohio from what I've seen. Here's their website - http://ccfsa.com/ (http://ccfsa.com/)
We're done with Appleseed there for the season but we'll be back in March.
PM sent about the other issues.
Slim,
Thank you sir for the great information. I checked their website and would like to pay them a visit. It is about 40 miles from my home, about an hour drive so that is not too bad and it sounds like a real bargain.
I would still like to find something closer to home...who wouldn't. I am going to call the local state park office to see what restrictions they have, if any.
Also replied to your PM. Thanks!
Well the waiting list is backing up I've been told, so you better move on it sooner than later... the Miami Pistol and Rifle Club is in your backyard, the oldest gun club in America? http://www.miamirifle-pistol.org/
On another note, if you enjoy shooting, you need to check these guys out, quite possibly the most awesome gun shop in Ohio! http://www.jenamygunshop.com/

Thanks Kick. I appreciate the information. I hope to run into you sometime.
Goodoldfriend:
I live in Western Clermont County (Loveland, Miami TWP) and find that it only takes me about 40 minutes to CCFSA, but I go through Goshen and Blanchester to get there. Miami Pistol and Rifle Association is indeed a fine range and a nice place to shoot.
Membership at CCFSA has gone up to $65/year, so it isn't near the deal it used to be. Plus, I heard the president of the club is a real dawg ;)
Send me a PM and I'll give you a tour.
Did he get sworn in yet?
There was an awful lot of swearing. Does that count?
Well I don't mean to throw a stick into anyones spokes... but there's an option in Batavia that I looked into while I lived out that way - do a google search for "Coonhunters Lane, Batavia, Ohio" and you'll find some good ole boy club that you can shoot a .22 at... best of luck to ya!
