Title: Tech sights... help needed
Post by: colonial shooter on July 14, 2008, 01:08:11 AM
I know this must be a strange question... but after using tech sights on my LTR, I finally put a set on my SKS. I looked through the peep and couldn't see the front sights at all. They were blocked by the rear sights.Has anyone else found this problem? Do you have to remove the rear sights to make it work right? I know that there are plenty of guys with them already installed. Help out those who are new or just new to the SKS tech sights.

Yes you have to remove the factory rear sight. I think it's in the installation instructions..... ;D

Yes, remove the rear sight and make sure to use the included pin (with a flat on one side) to hold the spring down or it will interfere with your sight picture as well (don't ask me how I know).

FYI - article on Tech-Sight installation for an SKS from Surplus Rifle here:
