Last year, it seemed we lost a lot of momentum from 2011 when the 2012 Project Appleseed season started in spring. We had few shoots before April 19th weekend and it felt like we were building the program from the ground up again. 2012 is finishing strong! We had many sold events this year and out of the 6 remaining events, 3 are already sold out and 1 more may sell out.
So the question of the day is, "How do we keep the momentum of 2012 going into 2013?"
One way is to schedule some events before April. Paul Fischer has scheduled an indoor Appleseed in Great Falls in January because the December shoot sold out so quickly.
Another way is to do promotions. Go to gun shows and other events and keep interest in Appleseed going.
Better yet - Libertyseeds! Keep telling the stories during the winter months in dry/warm settings and keep the heritage alive. It will keep our storytelling skills sharp and I bet it will get folks talking about us so that when shoots appear on the schedule we will get shooters lining up to come to our marksmanship events.
These are just some of my thoughts - would you care to share any of your own? I'm sure I am missing something.

IIT's, when in doubt, get ahold of whoever handles promo in your state for ideas!

Yay for Winterseeds!
I'm already pumped up for next spring and am ready to start signing up for my first 2013 shoot in or near IL.

May I suggest the upcoming Yakima, WA shoot being held December 1-2? ;)

Winterseed patches were awarded at this event last year.

We already have other plans that weekend. If anything comes up in January we may be able to do that, if we have enough advanced knowledge.

The only thing on the planning calendar for January is in Great Falls, Montana, but it won't qualify for a winterseed patch because it will be held at an indoor range.
There are a couple possibilities for February of next year:
- February 16-17 - Lewiston, Idaho
- February 23-24 - Ariel, Washington
If cold weather cooperates, these two might present opportunities for winterseed patches.

We'll keep those on our radar! Thank you.
I believe that having events listed online to register for would be a no brainer. We had our Dec shoot sell out within a couple of weeks of promoting for it and so we scheduled the one for Jan 12-13 but I am a lil nervous because no one can register for it. (Shadowman, you already know this but I wanted to whine to everyone else...)
I hope that I am just worried over nothing and that the event will be on eventbrite within the next few days. (fingers crossed)
Yes, the wait is a bit frustrating for everyone Countree, but the IT team are working on it as fast as they can.
Assume registration will be delayed, but keep doing promo for it, so the January shoot sells out just as fast!
