Title: Elverson, PA Oct 13-14, 2012
Post by: GEmanuel on October 17, 2012, 09:36:32 AM
With the first blast of sub freezing weather on Saturday morning an intrepid group of shooters made their way to the line at Northern Chester County Sportsman's Club. By the end of the day the temperatures had wormed nicely and everyone had big smiles on their faces.
The improvement in skills was acknowledged by all present, and each expressed a desire to come back in pursuit of the Rifleman patch.
History was acknowledged by several to be the highlight of their experience. Further study at home was their next course of action.
We had no new rifleman, but Steve did shoot three Rifleman scores with two different caliber bolt guns on Sunday, nice job Steve.
Ryan who may have been our youngest shooter started off with a bang on Saturday by cleaning the Red Coat. He was promptly awarded the 1st Pennsylvania Rifles patch. We just couldn't get the smile off of his face for the rest of the weekend.
As soon as my camera starts cooperating again I will post his picture.
Thanks to each and everyone of you for your attention and hard work. Each of the instructors were happy to work with you on your respective lines and we hope to see you again at NCCSC next April.
A big thank you to Northern Chester Sportsman's Club for thier support, it is great to have you behind us as we go about the business of saving the ship.

Finally got Ryans picture off of my phone. I really do need to get beyond being technically challenged. Oh well some day.
Congrats again Ryan, next is Rifleman

Great event.  I didn't get over to the 1st bay much, but in the 2nd bay we focused on solid fundamentals.  Everyone showed *significant* improvement.  I see a lot of new riflemen & women in the future.  Good job all.

I did remember to take 1 pic of the 2nd bay getting ready for stage 1 of the QDAQT.

Huzzah!

ETA:  Oh!  For those shooting Ruger 10/22s without some form of optic, i would highly recommend adding those Tech-Sights i mentioned:  http://tech-sights.com/ruger3.htm
