Bob, Janet and Mark (who shot with us) have put countless hours of serious work in the creation of this range to further advance the mission of Appleseed.
Their most recent work consists of the making of a range to allow for full distance shooting. Literally a man who moves mountains and
with the help of a D9 Cat (see below pic) and his friend Mark and son Rob with his Bobcat.

This was the official event to christen this range and what a success it was!
The Lost Canyon Range is the penultimate range for learning the fundamentals of precision distance shooting and all the associated skills.
This will be where the majority of Colorado's FDC events will be held.
...more later.

How big is my group and where is my group?
This 4 MOA or so size group is at 200 yards. How many minutes does it need to come down?
The black square is 4MOA, how many inches is it?
Shooters take notes and make adjustments back at the line.

There will be 2 3 Day FDC's at this range next year and 2 FDC's at the NRA WC in Raton, NM too.
Se you all there!
Thanks Alan (Long Rifle), Dan (TaosGlock), Bob (Cowboy) and Janet (Sidesaddle) for a wonderful Full Distance Camp! This was such a great experience and absolutely worth the drive from northern Utah. The instruction was top notch and the range was perfect. Thanks everyone and congratulations to Jim and Bob for shooting rifleman scores.

The Target Detection exercise was great. There are 4 objects in this picture that don't belong (no, it's not the 4 jokers walking up the hill, nor the target backers)...
The range estimation exercise was also very nicely practiced using the front sight method.

For Wind Correction we even learned to shoot through dust devils! Debris sailed through the sky for miles.
