Title: "Civic Ignorance" could lead to US dictatorship...AS to the rescue !

It seems former Supreme Court Justice David Souter feels Appleseed could be the answer to America's problems too.   ;)

QuoteSouter described "pervasive civic ignorance" as one of the biggest problems in the United States. He warned that Americans' ignorance about their own government could lead to a dictatorship.

This, is of course, one of the mortal enemies of America, ignorance.   This, along with the Axis of Evil towards Liberty (ignorance, laziness and apathy) America can be surrendered, but not conquered.

Note in his comments how he points to the root cause of the problems this country faces, and the very source of these problems....the PEOPLE.    The same source which John Adams attributes the success and champion of Freedom and Liberty, and who he attributes the birth of this country to....the PEOPLE.

It is the hearts and minds of the American PEOPLE which dictates the future of this country.   It is the hearts and minds of the American PEOPLE, now, as it was back then, which is the pillar Liberty is erected upon.    Liberty is not handed down from above, but erected up from below.

There has been much invested by the enemies of Liberty to erode the Foundations of this country, and to break down the Spirit and Knowledge of Liberty in this country.   Most can understand how this erosion can not be covered over, but must be rebuilt to sustain the weight of Lady Liberty.     This means going to the Foundation, the root of Liberty, and this is the hearts and minds of our friends, family, neighbors and co-workers.

Sadly, we can also understand how a person can be comfortable in their ignorance, and to attempt to drag them out of their dark place is a difficult task... however, if we can coax them out of the darkness of ignorance, perhaps they will shed laziness and apathy for a cloak of Liberty.

Ownership of America must be established, in the hearts and minds of the American people.    They are heirs of a great inheritance, a gift of great sacrifice from generations previous.   Sometimes with a great inheritance, there is a lack of appreciation of value.

Appleseed is about the business of increasing the appreciation of this value, in restoring the Pride of Ownership.

Ignorant and Free, never was and never will be. -Ben Franklin?

Yet Johnny can't even read!  He certainly doesn't understand the founding of the country as the history in many place isn't even taught.

Maybe the good Justice could come and give one of the Strikes?????  Should at least get us some press.

Fred has a statement that says something like " tradition is the rudder which keeps a nation on course ...without tradition the ship goes in circles hitting rocks ...
Fred ,sorry I should have written it down  :-[

as mentioned we are the keepers of liberty and Appleseed is the only vehicle that has the potential to change the course of history .
