Title: Full-Distance ranges in your state?
Post by: ItsanSKS on September 12, 2012, 09:02:20 PM
To all Appleseeders:

Trying to pull together the current Appleseed venues that offer distances in excess of 300 yards.  If your state has one, please respond to this thread with the range name*, maximum distance available, and the number of shooters that it can accommodate at one time.
*= Please list the range name as it appears on eventbrite

Thank you for your prompt attention,

-ItsanSKS

Gibsonburg, Ohio  would take special consideration with the club as distance shooting closes all ranges.  20 lanes

New Philadelphia, Ohio  30 lanes

Zanesville, Ohio   would take special consideration with the club as distance shooting to 400 yds takes their only distance range.
     25 lanes

FYI.....

The 500 yrd DOES NOT shut down the entire club at Gibsonburg. It is shooting the intermediate distances that are forward of the 500 firing line that requires shutting down the club as they are all forward of every other firing line at the club. We shoot 500 every appleseed without any problems and can safely put up to 10-15 ish shooters on the line at a time sharing steel ( target line spacing and berm being the prob). We also have a 0-300 range but when ya got the 1/4 mile why bother !

PB,

Looking at ranges to do a dedicated 1 or 2 KD clinic. Why I stated that it would take some special consideration with the club for it to happen at G-gurg. The other ranges would either need to close or follow KD COF.

At New Philly, there's a dedicated KD range that goes out to 600yds, and then there's the normal range we use for AS that also goes out to distance, but only to 300yds (306, to be exact :) ).  So there are actually 2 ranges, like in G'burg, that we can do KD at.  Just another FYI...

We did KDAQT ......we have 0-300 NO 400 and we shoot 500 instead

0-300 are conducted on one range and 500 on the 500.......

not the best set up but it worked and we shot steel and just counted hits rather than score full size D targets. No ranges were shut down to do the KD clinic in this manner. Hey you folks who came chime in and tell us your experience at the July Kd clinic as to how this worked out.

Also, I thought that Meeker Sportsman club's main range in Marion was 400 yrds.  Am I mistaken?
