Has anyone see on of these? Is it what I hope it is?
Ruger 10/22 CMP
"An out of the box competition rifle with proportionately tapered forend and no barrel bands. Feature patented, detachable 10 shot rotary magazine. Easy to use extended magazine release. Positive, push button, cross bolt manual safety. Easy to use adjustable sights with a combination scope base adapter. Hammer forged barrel. Heat-stabilized, glass filled polymer trigger housing assembly."
I can't find this on the CMP's web site, can you post a link?
Thanks

That description is kind of misleading. The 10/22 CMP is the Compact (Youth) rifle.

Darn, I was hoping for a couple out-of-the-box LTR's to give as Christmas presents.

I've got one of the Compacts as a loaner. It's a great shooter in spite of the shorter barrel, beats my regular carbines. Sights are better than the carbines, but still not up to LTR standards. Same nasty Ruger stock trigger pull.

Yep, got a "youth" action/barrel on an Axiom stock, it'll consistantly shoot half the group size the standard carbine will for whatever reason....O.L.
The Ruger Compact has a 16" barrel and a 13" LOP. The regular carbine has a 18" barrel and a 13-1/2" LOP.
Combined with a "Youth Stock" from Brownells, the Compact makes a great LTR for the smaller, younger shooter. I have one all set up just as a loaner. Took the stock from the Compact and put it on a regular carbine for another, smaller loaner.
