Title: WWII Markmanship Shoot
Post by: wildman on September 09, 2012, 08:46:15 PM
The WWII Shoot is this coming Saturday September the 15th. Event kicks off at 10:00. This year we are making some changes in the way we run the course. It's time we broke the "prone" habit so we are introducing some movement into the COF. Hope you can make it.

This will be a fun shoot, we will use other positions such as you would find in the real world. Prone has become too easy and boring.

lulz.

At Young AZ, this last weekend, we did a KD session from 100 to 500 yards.  When I went up to survey the range 2 months ago, the range was a retired rock-paved air strip and was clear from prone all the way to 500 yards.

Except the grass was 2 foot tall on the range in early September.

So, we did prone out of the back of pickup trucks.   ;D

The breeze would lightly rock the trucks at times and the shooters would have to time their respiratory pause to the suspension rock pause as well.  But, we had two folks shoot KD rifleman scores, one with a 224.  That's impressive.
