I will be attending my 2nd seed this summer and last time i used a marlin 60 since then having got a 10 22 as being middle aged with astigmatism are there any sight that would help me be more accurate and where can i get this
Hi dirtyharry,
Tech Sights are very popular:

Another option (the one I use) are the sights from Spud Nodak:

Hope this helps.

dirtyharry,
I am also a newbie here but I wanted to comment. I have attended two Appleseeds with my Marlin Model 60. Great rifle but since it is tube fed I was a bit out of step with everyone else on the line. There are also not many goodies available for the Marlin. Like you, I will get a 10/22 for my next Appleseed. I plan to use the Tech-sights. One of the Safety Officers loaned me his 10/22 at my first Appleseed and it had tech-sights. I was accustomed to using a scope but I found the tech-sights to be easy to see and I had very good groups. Based on that experience I will use tech-sights on my new 10/22.
I am 55 years old and have poor eyesight. There are some things about the peep sights that are actually easier for me than using a scope. Weird, huh?
My first experience was similar to RT's, used a scope to get my patch. 55+ with arms too short. Then borrowed one with Tech Sights, WOW, groups just as tight as I could with a scope. Which only makes sense, you don't wiggle any more or less with either, it's just more noticable with a scope. The 6 steps work and just because regular open irons doesn't work, peeps are a different animal....O.L.
Another option that I was shown by Alex are Daisy air gun sights.
I just mounted one on my 10/22 and love it.

Actually tightened up my groups a smidge too.

How did you mount it? Do the screw holes line up with the factory 10/22 holes?
Thanks

I had the same question, it was answered by IA Alex
5899 Receiver Sight. Fits Models 499, 845, 977, 853, 953.
The scope rail is a Weaver TO-9M, 48505, TOP MOUNT BASE.One piece TIP OFF BASE used on: RUGER 10/22*
the mount is put on the rifle backwards so that they can reach back far enough to mount the sight. Mounting it backwards will not allow you to use all the screws to the scope mount but it should still work.
the mount is about $4.
blue loctite should keep it on your receiver
use it in conjunction w/ the tech sight front and you're good to go

Actually......
I just used the factory scope rail that ships with every 10/22 mounted normally.
Worked fine so far.
Tighter groups than I've ever managed with the Tech-Sights.

You did get them mounted on there okay? I am currently working on a parts list and "instruction manual" for how my rifles are built, so I was hoping that you got it all worked out like that.
