After a long search for some load data for the 8x56 RS Hungarian cartridge turned up minimal results, I decided to have a go at it myself. I had a quick chat with the tech. folks at Hodgdon and loaded up some cases, took them to the range and chronographed them. No high pressure indications on the cases, and they extracted easily.
Rifle - M95 Steyr
Barrel Length - 19"
Temp - 95F
COL - 75.7mm (2.98")
Bullet - Pervi-Partizan FMJBT (.330)
Powder - Varget
47.5 gr - 2223 fps.
49.0 gr - 2350 fps.
For what its worth this worked in my rifle, and hopefully this may help someone who was also looking for some kind of load data on this cartridge.
