Title: Width of a Sling
Post by: UncleCake on June 19, 2012, 01:12:12 PM
I have a 10/22 with the International stock. It has the rings for the sling, but I don't know how to determine if it is a 1" or 1 1/4". I was planning on purchasing the USGI sling when I go to my seed this weekend and I know that they are 1 1/4" wide. How to I determine if mine is a 1" or 1 1/4"?

Any help would be appreciated!

quick and dirty test

a US quarter is just under one inch in diameter

if it barely passes thru, the sling loops are the smaller 1 inch variety

from handling these 10/22s at the shop, I think that's what you've got

you'll have to take a pair of USGI clips to the shop and have them ground down to fit.  IIRC, somebody on the forum here has a source for these.

for this weekend, just hook up the sling using  our old friend, the zip tie

Tech Sights sells an excellent quality GI web sling in 1". I have on for my Mini 14 and it is quite good.
