Hello,
Has an OFFICER of the RWVA filled out this form:
http://www.odcmp.com/Clubs/Forms/Savage.pdf
The CMP will determine the applicant organization's eligibility to purchase. The CMP will send a Rifle Purchase Eligibility Certificate to each approved applicant together with instructions for ordering Savage Mark I-FVT and Mark II-FVT rifles.
so we cal purchase this rifle through the CMP and have it shipped to our local FFL dealer?
If not who should this request be sent to at RWVA?
Does anyone know if the Williams click adjustable sight are an upgrade from the sights on the FVT that you would get if you purchased it from Savage?
Thank you,
Stand
Sir,
The benefit here is you can have it shipped directly to your door,
no FFL needed in this case.
Attention to detail, does not pertain to modern Rifles. So FFL needed
NOPE!
That is the case with the M1 and the air rifles but not the "Modern Rifles" This rifles is never actually touched by CMP it is shipped from Savage to your FFL dealer.
So who is a RWVA Officer that will fill out the paper work so instructors can buy these?
Thank you,

This is a decent rifle. I was able to put five rounds in about a .22 caliber hole at 50 feet with it, so it's plenty accurate.
Is this the rifle the Boy scouts are using?
It is a fine rifle for indoor target shooting with no wind.
Bump. One of these would make a great loaner for the right student!
My 4-H rifle program has 5 of them. They are shooters. HQ has put up sub MOA groups in a variety of conditions with Blazer. Its a MarkII. Its a good rifle. the williams sights are a little more complicated than battle sights given the gig screws but if you understand how to use them they are fine. Occasionally the post insert that come with these sights may contain a post that is not exactly the right height. It is possible that the result will prevent from getting a zero at 25 yards (this is experienced based information). Williams sent a new insert immediately upon contact.
Back to the original question: Does Appleseed qualify as a "CLUB" to obtain these rifles? If YES, WHO can fill out th paperwork as an officer of the club?
This is different from purchasing an M1.
Thank you,

I don't think you can buy one for your personal use. It seems like the club can buy them for the club's youth programs only.
"Clubs, teams or camps may order as many rifles as they wish as long as they can demonstrate that the rifles will be used for their junior marksmanship program and are not for resale or other re-transfer to individuals."
nyrasgt would be a good guy to ask about this, he has chased down instructor pricing with several manufacturers.
as to the purchase. it would seem that the club in question would be the rwva and it probably qualifies but i don't think many folks who run the numbers want to get into the org buying and owning guns. I may be wrong. On the flipside, a mark II can be had for the price they are asking on gunbroker and I would like to take this opportunity to suggest the fine products at Vortex when it comes to quality glass.
