Title: Appleseed in Tri-Cities?
Post by: George Hacker on May 20, 2012, 02:09:25 AM
Could Appleseed break out in Tri-Cities?

There is currently one range in the area that would like to find out more about Project Appleseed.  They are very interested in hosting a shoot.  There is another range in the area that is also a possibility.  We need some local boots on the ground to talk with these ranges and to be willing to do some promotional work once (notice I didn't use the word "if"?) we get some shoots on the schedule.

If you are an Appleseed veteran (with or without a rifleman's patch) or an Appleseed instructor who lives in or near the Tri-Cities, then stand up and be counted.  Please step up and post a reply to this call for action.  I am hoping a handful will rise to the occasion and we can work together to help these ranges understand who we are and what we are about.

Wishing the best for the Tri-Cities region,

Hello,

I live in Kennewick, and I am a member at the Tri-Cities Silhouette Shooting Association range.  I have been talking with Shadowman in regards to how best to proceed to approach my club.

I understand there are some Appleseed instructors here in the Tri-Cities, and I would like to get together with them to see if we could brain storm about how best to approach the Club.

The club has meetings monthly, and I am intending to attend the next meeting and present my experiences of my two Appleseeds.   Ideally we could get together at the range, as the range is a free to guests range.  That way the instructors could see the range and provide feedback as to feasibility and how to explain to the club officers how the range could be utilized.

So, any Instructors here in the Tri-Cities?  Any instructors close?  We could meet for a dinner somewhere, but I think better yet would be to meet shooting.  I'm up for anything, I just wnat to get an apple seed here.

thanks for any help...

jim

We really need to get some Appleseed in the Tri-Cities and we need some boots on the ground who live in the area to help us get started.  I have leads on a couple of ranges in the area (1 of them is in the previous post) and there are some HUGE promotional opportunities that could really get Appleseed out of the gate at a full sprint.

Please reply to this thread or PM if you must.

Live just south of the tri-cities on the south side of the columbia river. Although i am not an instructor(yet) I would be more than willing to help Appleseed gain and hold a beachhead in the tricities area.

Jerry,

Thanks for stepping forward.  There are a couple of ranges we are looking at using for Appleseed shoots in the Tri-Cities area and there is a promotional event coming up in September - The Outdoorsman Expo.  I haven't reserved a booth yet at that event. It is September 7-9.

Shadowman,
How is the quest for a home range in or around the tri-cities doing? Do we have volunteers for the outdoorsman expo? I am scheduled to work that weekend but if you need my help i can take a vacation day.

Jerry,

Thanks for asking.  It looks like we will have a shoot on the calendar October 20-21 at the Waitsburg Gun Club, which is 20 minutes NE of Walla Walla.  We are working on the host application process and once we have the paperwork done it should appear on Eventbrite.

Theophilus is taking some time off from work to come out to Tri-Cities to work the Outdoorsman Expo.  We have a booth reserved and paid for.  I'm sure Theophilus and Joni would appreciate having you come by the booth and helping.  PM him and see if you can coordinate.
