How much side to side wiggle does your front sight have? The rifle I use and loan out the most has a pretty significant amount of side to side play that will stay where ever you push it. Any ideas how to get rid of it?....O.L.
Is the sight post wiggling in the mount or is the sight base wiggling in the dovetail?
If it's moving in the dovetail a dab of Loctite on the set screw that locks the base in place and tightening that screw down should do the trick.
If it's the post wiggling in the base....
I got nuthin and look forward to other's input.
Very simple fix, remove the sight post, be careful not to loose the detent and spring. Then wrap the threads with enough teflon tape to make it sit still. Reinstall

That'll do it. I've used that stuff 1000 times but didn't cross my mind in this application! :)...O.L.
Teflon is almost as good as duct tape!
I think Tech makes a taller front post. The originals were too short and are screwed out too far when sighted in. Makes one wonder if the manufacture actually used the product.
I think there are two different front sight posts from Tech Sights: one for the version that has the elevation on the rear, and the other for version that uses the standard AR aperture.

I'd bet that is the case. For a 25m zero, it's 14 clicks up from being bottomed out. This is the T-100 by the way. And it doesn't have enough adjustment to reach 200m. Bottomed out with the long range app, still 4moa low at 200. Not that big a deal, just hate KY windage when adjustments could be made....O.L.
Any AR sight post will thread in the tech sight, a nice square top post looks better to me than pointy taper supplied with the sights I bought.
:cool2:

Well the tape seemed to do the trick. While I was at it, trimmed about .030" off the threaded end, should get close to being dead on at 200m bottomed out. Going with a taller post would have helped with thread engagement but wrong direction for longer ranges. Shimming the rear sight might be an option..........O.L.
Would some good old clear nail polish be helpful? That is what I got on mine.

If you used nail polish on the frount sight, how do you adjust the elevation?
2cl
Tech makes two models of sights 100 and 200 sounds like you have the 100 you can buy the 200 front sight post for 5 dollars from techsites and it will fit its universal and will give you more adjustment options (spent some time on phone with tech rep)
Tec sights force me to do complex math, and I don't like it , makes my brain hurt =^(

Platz make it simple math and found it down to 1/2 moa per click for big adjustments to get close then a click or two to fine tune it.
No more complex stuff to worry about! O0
KISS is good.

Even simpler; think of it as 2 clicks per MOA instead of 1/2 MOA per click. Learned that from a MI. O0

Had a scope on the line this weekend which was 1/4" per click at 150 yards. All I could think of while doing the math was "who in the heck thought that was a good idea?"
Chinese version of 1/8moa @ 100, which is way to much fine tuneing unless you have a scope that's powerfully enough to the hair on a Deere back, and a rifle accurate enough to split it.
Thanks for the tips by the way I may just have to take a trip out to beaver falls this summer!
