Similar to the "Waterman 300", Appleseed has been offered a great opportunity to partner with the State of Illinois, Department of Natural Resources World Shooting and Recreational Complex in Sparta, Illinois as they host their SCTP Nationals Competition.
This is the Scholastic Clay Target Program which will be for youth aged 10-18. In addition to the elimination trials and championships with the clays, WSRC wants to offer additional shooting sports opportunities to keep the participants involved over the course of the week.
Appleseed has been offered the opportunity to have three days of availability to run mini-youth Appleseed courses over the three days of July 17-21.
So, be thinking about this and see if you can fit in some "during-the-week" instruction time. I'll be posting more as we get the logistical details established over the next week.
Here is a real good opportunity for us to break into new markets. We will need many instructors so try to be a part of this. O0
Thanks!

I have signed up to instruct @ the July 14 - 15 Sparta, IL Appleseed Shoot and will be able to participate at least two of the days (July 17 - 21).
I don't suppose there might be a way to "pre-introduce" SCTP Parents/Sponsors to Appleseed through the weekend shoot? That might encourage them to guide their children for our History/Instruction.
Just Thinking - mutti
I take it this will require quite a batch of loaners
Sparta is working on getting sponsors to donate the rifles for us to use. O0
More information to come as the details get finalized.

Uhhhh, PG, could you explain the three days of 17-21 a little better so people might have a better idea of exactly what they are signing up for? :-\ ;)
OOPs. I forgot I was on IP when I made that last post about the 3 days. #)
I have the Illinois 300 Spartan logo patch I did two years ago. We can redo it as the 400 if you would be interested.
CM
I'm looking for the sign up. Apparently I'm lost?!

Castle Mountain - redoing the Sparta 300 patch sounds like a great idea. Wait a week or so until we get the number firmed up.
Mutti, the EIP will be launched very soon. Still waiting on a few more details from the Sports Complex director.
Stay tuned!!

CM & PG,
You can count me in and possibly a couple of the Ohio cadre as well.
IHG,

Update info. We're planning to run the first 400 kids who sign up, relay style through classroom, preshoot education, then shooting. The POI is yet to be done based on the schedule. The Il Dept. of Natl. Resources director will be having a meeting next Wed. We will know more after that. O0

I might be able to commit a day...I'll have to work my schedule to make it happen. I'll have a better idea in June.
Thanks,
Karl
Thanks, I'll keep ya posted!
Is this going to show up on the I.S.? Or is it not an 'official' AS event?
Will try to commit to at least one day, waiting on my non farm work schedule to firm up before I commit.........
