Post by: colonial shooter on June 01, 2008, 01:46:58 AM
Morning started out with the engineers hanging wire and backers.Flags blowing in the gentle breeze. Shooters started arriving around 7:30. Club has done amazing work on flood control. Instructors ready for a grueling day, History, squares, redcoats and aqt's. Three new riflemen made today out of 24 shooters. Many more in the 190-205 range. All but one returning in the morning, rested and refreshed for another dip in the pool(mud hole ;D) of marksmanship. Many of our friends from the FSW present today and doing well. Thanks to a great staff: Dad, Smiley_Dan, Dinky Dao, and Cindy. More tomorrow, hopefully pictures will be here soon. Douglas Rocks!!

WOW, what a weekend! As usual a great time in the West. 27 shooters total for both days, 9 new riflemen, several more knocking on the door. Participants came from Nebraska, Colorado, several locals (most from the FSW project) and one from across the pond in Sweden. And the possibility of our first international IIT (way to go KTR). Just after lunch, the students were informed of the Victory over Kemmerer. The students have now been tasked with getting the word out and filling both firing lines for the First ever FREE Appleseed shoot in September. Many thanks to the Converse County Rifle Range/Park, for allowing us to use their facilities. Hopefully, pics will be posted soon.         Douglas Rocks!!!

Sorry I haven't posted sooner. A 1400 mile round trip, home at 0500.

But I can't believe how great Douglas was. The weather was perfect, 72 degrees and a light breeze. If Wyoming is really that nice, I'm ready to move.

The shooters were great too. 9 Riflemen and several sooo close. Some of the Riflemen-Chuck,Bill, Alan- were from the Colorado contingent.( Thanks ,Chuck ,for letting me try your ACOG). And Mike and Dave from Nebraska.

Douglas was truly the Best in the West I hope I get to return in Sept. for the FREE APPPLESEED!
