Title: MICHIGAN LIBRARYSEEDS
Post by: Swamp Thing on March 31, 2012, 08:56:48 PM
Fred has personally challenged Michigan to crank up the Libraryseeds.

Instructors, please post up about your efforts.

Others, please tell us about opportunities to bring the history and heritage portion of Appleseed to a library, school, church, or anywhere else near you.

Thanks,

ST

How about a Hoosier going first? We have been given an opportunity to get into a 5th grade public school classroom in Elhart, and no instructor in Indiana can get the day off on short notice. A quick heads up to ITB and it looks like Mac66 will be able to run with it.

So maybe MI's first Libraryseed will be in IN?

Actually I already did a library seed and have a couple more planned but the Elkhart school will be the first seed in a public school for us. Looking forward to cracking that nut.

This is fantastic considering the date! The children at Pinewood are in for a real history lesson from the "Godzilla of Liberty" !

Lapeer Libraryseed is done. 38 people showed thanks to Earthmom who set the whole thing up. She will be writing the IAAR soon.  All I had to do is set up my props and yack for an hour and a half.

Hey mac...you have a "promotions packet" for the groups that you been using to sell the idea?  Or have you been using your charm and good looks to make the connection?

We have a DAR chapter here, a Heritage Museum, a Boy Scout troop and a Library that constantly hosts speakers that may be candidates.  I haven't mentioned it to them yet, but we're friends with the Principals of our elementary and middle school...they would likely be game.

Actually there was 39 people who attended. I would like to say that it was my intriguing press release and flyer that got 39 people to attend but it was Earthmom who got 38 of them through her home schooling network.

I did manage to get the 39th person by dragging some homeless guy off the street into the library to get warm.  He is now my best friend because his uncle has a gun just like mine.

Best to ask Earthmom what she sent out.

Just a clarification, as per Fred History given at a Libertyseed for IIT3-4 promotion does count toward your promotion. It needs to be done in the presence of a Red Hat and the they must sign off on it on your PC form with the date and the History that was presented.

Let it be written, let it be law.  Where can I find this written?

Now would be a great time for all the IITs to setup a Libertyseed to help the program AND help themselves. Setup a location that is local (comfortable) for you and let the rest of us know what help you need. There are PowerPoint and Prezi presentations, photos, musket balls, bayonets and some muskets available for props.

THE FOLLOWING IS FOR SECRET SQUIRREL ORANGE HATS ONLY...NO CHRISTMAS HATS ALLOWED!

:sb:
Sermon to fellow Orange Hats. Orange Hats Unite! Why are so many of us being secret agents in our own communities? Make yourself known and book something. Counting Libertyseed History towards PC4 should be the final push to get all of us our PC4 and (more importantly) help YOUR local community. It is great that we are all bailing like out lives depend upon it (they do), but getting even a few people in your local community can make a HUGE change that shows up quickly. If enough of us fix our local communities, the County will be saved as a result. End of sermon

Long live the Republic,

Whippet

Fred,

I have been asked a couple times this week whether Libetyseed history presentations count toward a PC 3-4. I would assume if there is a red hat present and they observe it and sign off on it the answer would be yes, correct?

PK

    I don't see why not.

Just so happens Whippet is doing his Second Strike tonight at a libertyseed.  Unless he passes out in the first minute I expect to pass him on it...which is probably why he asked. ;D
