Title: Close Range comeups (and some MOA Math)
Post by: Justsomedude on March 26, 2012, 01:15:06 PM
25m Zero

How low do you print when shooting at close range?

I'm testing a rifle at home.
Using Winchester .22 CB Match

At 20' it is 1 1/8 inch low.
At 45' it is 1/2" low
So it is rising 1/8" per 5 feet.
At that rate it should be 3/8" high at 25 yards if the rise is straight and constant.

So at 20' I would want to be 1.25" to 1.5" (1 3/8") Low to be Zeroed at 25 Yards?

I am shooting it out of an AR-15 with A2 Sights with a 20" barrel.
The high Sight to bore cause a more drastic angle up close.

The 20" Barrel should flatten it out a bit compared to a 16" right?
Working on my Rifle Physics.
and wondering how it compares to other Rifles.

Practicing MOA Math....

1/4" = 1MOA at 25 Yards
25 Yard = 75'
75 divided by 20 is 3.75
1/4 divided by 3.75 = .06666
.06" = 1 MOA at 20'
