Option 1: Dodge Ram
Option 2: Ford F150
Option 3: Tie
Title: Your Opinion on the Better Truck.
Post by: VietVet on March 10, 2012, 09:03:44 AM
I know some may feel this is off topic and slightly foolish but please lend a hand.
Myself and Josey Wales both just recently purchased new Trucks.

All in fun we threw digs at each other at who's vehicle was better.
So we agreed to let it be decided by a vote.
Dodge Ram 5.7 Hemi engine.
Ford F150 5.0 engine.

Aside from that except for some minor "extras" they're very similar.

So, if you were to buy one which would it be.
Again this is all in fun so so please don't get bent out of shape for posting this.

Dodge is on the right. Ford is on the left.

Used to be that Ford's doors would fall off, GMC's would lose their paint, and nothing else was worth considering...  Out of the two I'd go with Ford.

Caveat, my dad has a newer Dodge and likes it, and I drive a Toyota Taco.   $$-0

Respect the fact that Ford didn't beg/borrow/steal any FRN's from the American tax slaves due to mismanagement.

I own a 12 year old F-150, still goin' strong.

Gov't Motors and Chrysler are off the list, permanently.  I didn't voluntarily give money to people who've already stolen from me.  Bankruptcy for thugs.

My 02 Dodge with 170.000 miles on it just took 3 of us 12 rifles and a weeks worth of camping gear to Ramseur and Back without a hitch... Didn't even get a ticket with my Yankee plates. Huzzah! Mopar!

The best truck is one that is paid for.
If your driving a new one, thank you for taking the awsome new/used devaluation hit.
My vehicles are all test driven and have the bugs worked out by the first owner.

Only the one that does not have any computerized electronics.

Get a 1968 or older pickup with distributor points and condenser, NO electronic distributor......

Isolate the battery, by keeping the battery cables disconnected until you need to use it.

What's American made?  I suspect all of the above mentioned have made in China or Mexico stamped through out them. Made in America--- your only kidding yourself. L.O.L. ~ Two Wolves

BTW-- I voted for the Ram.  I liked the styling.

12 years old, 126k, full target line, spares bag, steel, line supplies and shoot box always in the back. No payment book.

After the last two years I can park it at any range in Indiana, and folks will migrate towards it with everything but a rifle in their hands. They figure there is an Appleseed close by.

Perfect truck.

Well, VietVet and Josey, you both know how LittleMo and I vote.  Our Appleseed mobile carries promotional material, shooting mats, ammo, etc at all times.  You ever look at the back seat and bed??  LoL  Hook on the 32' Motel Appleseed and go.

Gary and I, being a bit over the top when it comes to thoroughness, special ordered our golden....yes K-Dan, golden Ford last year and never looked back.  Truck fully Appleseed loaded, hooked up to the trailer, head up 7% grades up to Burlington Flats, unhooked the trailer and headed up the steep muddy grade to the 400yd target line at Burlington Flats.  Yup, other vehicles made the same trip, but they hadn't just hauled a 10K pound rig!!

Built Ford Tough.

OK, this is pretty awesome.  Nice job with the plate O0

Fun thread, but what have you done to make sure your next event has more than 5 students.  I know, bummer, really  big bummer. Is there a 30 minute job that you can do, to make sure you have more than 5 students at your next event?  The AS weekend is going to take 2 days of your time, why not make it worthwhile?  We have a country to save, so we can all have big new full sized pickum trucks. ^:)^

GET OUT WADE!!!!

WE pickum truck owners want to be truckers too.

THAT WAS SO IN YOUR FACE.  You aught to feel really bad about pointing that out.

Now have all of you found the time to send out one email to a news paper today?  I found the the time to send 2 of them.  Get in contact with your SC and find out where the " already written
press releases are "

I KNOW THE FORUM IS A MESS, BUT YOUR SC SHOULD HAVE EASY STUFF TO ACCESS.

I'm a Chevy guy and that is because I haven't had problems with any of the Chevy trucks or SUV's I have owned. I also like the interior ergonomics of them over other brands. Something about my belly, arms, and legs just fit them better. :pop:

AS to pick up's  I don't think it really matter what brand  ford chevy dodge jeep international, is it in good shape is it afordable  will you have to make payments ? For  myself if I have to make payments its a no go ,,,I see no advantage to being in debt  NONE not on a want ! if its a need for work thats defrant  but look at it logicly a want is not a need ,,also can I work on the darned thing if I need to  with my pick up yes ,,one of those new things ? not so much,,,,,
