Project Appleseed

Someone at an Appleseed mentioned something about an lunar anomaly being the reason PR was not spotted by the Somerset's sentries.  I did a little searching and found an interesting article from Sky & Telescope that explains the moon's position relative to the Somerset and Revere's route, and the reason Revere was not spotted.

Pretty neat!  Would have been interesting to be there in 1992 to watch the moon rise just as it had 217 years prior.

Thanks Stand.  I never took the time to read the Appendix, but thanks to you, I have discovered all kinds of neat tidbits there.  Just after the moon info you cited above is an interesting section on the tide that night, and how it helped Revere and hindered the British.  Providential indeed!

Grad school ruined me.  I don't like to read anything that isn't extensively documented.  There is all kinds of neat stuff in the Appendices.

dang now I got more reading to do.  I also never read the appendix.  guess I'll have to go back through it
