Well, on January 19th, 2012 I was in Columbus, OH. I took an amazing oath to defend our nation's constitution that day, and neared the end of my pursuit to service with the strongest Air Force in the world.
It is an incredibly humbling experiance, and chills literally sent down my spine and legs in the process. Reciting the Airman's Creed sends the same chills every time too.
Today I found out that I booked a job, 1N031 - operations intelligence. I begin basic military training on July 3rd, rather fitting to be starting basic practically on Independence Day.
Just thought I'd share. :cool2:
Congratulations!
Thank you for your service!

Thanks everybody. I've had to be somewhat withdrawn from AS due to work for a while, and now for the service - but, eventually I'll probably be getting weekends off with some regularity. That leads to openings for AS :D
Well done!
I served in the USAF '71-'74 as a photographer. Enjoyed it completely. Didn't even mind being in Selma AL the whole hitch. At the time I enlisted serving one's country was not very fashionable. Now that I'm a card carrying "Senior Citizen" I'm so very glad I stepped up. HuzzaH!!
Congratulations, and "Thank You" for your service ^:)^
Good luck, and thank you for serving.
Roland
Thank you, good luck and God's speed to you.
Congratulations Jeep, and thank you so much Jeep, for your service to the greatest Air Force in the world. I know that you will do everything humanly possible to uphold the Oath that you have taken, to protect American from all of her enemies, both foreign and domestic; the USAF is a better place with you in it. 8)
You and your future endeavors, as a part of the Greatest Force on Earth, will be in my prayers.
PM incoming... :)
Congrats Jeep and thanks for your service. On July 7th, 1972 I started basic training at Lackland AFB. Twenty years and one month later I retired. Best wishes on a successful career. @&)
Sitting in meps, best of luck to everyone.
Best of luck to you, also! Go Air Force!!!
Hope you enjoy Texas :-)
You'll probably end up at Goodfellow after you leave Lackland.
Graduated 31AUG, our flight was the honor flight. We also snagged dorm excellence, beast excellence, and academic excellence.
Started tech school 03SEP12.
:)
A follow up - I'm at Goodfellow still, kicking butt and taking names. From the looks of things I'll be stationed in Ohio next year.
Keep us updated. O0
Will be great to have you back home!! I can only imagine how happy your family will be!
IHG,

Join the Air Force and see Ohio -- All roads lead to Wright Patt...
Is the building still painted pink?
Congrats and Thank You for your service.Stay safe. @&)
I must have taken the wrong road, Buckeye Marksman. I went to Keesler AFB, MS for 9 months of tech school after Basic. Then spent the next 3+ years at Barksdale (Barkatraz) AFB, LA.
Thank you for your service.
