I just purchased a 10/22 (carbine model) and put it into a Tapco stock. If I were to buy The Tech sights would it be possible to get them sighted in at the range?
My back-up .22LR is a Remington 15-22, however, this rifle only has one sling swivel on the buttstock. Would I need to get a something like a tactical type sling for it?
Goodrich-
First of all, thank you for signing up for our event in Gainesville.
Usually, the tech sites are fairly close right from the start, but they will need some adjustment to be right-on. If you have the time to sight in the rifle before your event, it would be a good thing, but if not, our instructors can help you do so.
Regarding the Remington 15/22-
The sling usage that we teach is not necessarily complementary to single-point 'tactical' slings. There are relatively inexpensive sling swivels that one can purchase, that attach directly to the railed fore end of your rifle. Please see this one, found at cheaper than dirt:

That being said, Project Appleseed events are not about the 'equipment race'. Some of the things we teach revolve around the concept of using a sling to support your position; this does not mean that you MUST have a sling to participate, but not having one may handicap your performance.
If you are looking for the appropriate sling to use, you need look no further than our very own web store, where they are available for a paltry $12.50 + s/h:

If you have any other questions, or would like to speak with one of your instructors prior to the event, please send a Private Message to either myself, or "9mm4545".

Looking forward to seeing you there. Come early and be ready for the fire hose of marksmanship instruction! Here is a good link on what to bring: http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=8162.0 (http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=8162.0)
Oh yeah, bring a friend too. :)
Never mind going to be stuck at work.... :wall:
Arrrrgh!
If you can't make both days, you can come to either day and still derive benefits. Saturday is usually what we recommend for one day attendees but either day is better than no days.
