I got a Ruger M 77 with scope mounted and would like a extension on the handle so my hands are not wacking the scope or fumbling to work the bolt. Will ship prefer close to me ( PA/WVA) any suggestions?
Some of the oversized charging handles have caused ejection problems,
They impede the timing and often stove pipe.
In slow motion it was discovered that it was ejecting hitting the charging handle ( the part that was ergonomically curved forward, and land right back inside the ejection port. This was isolated to this particular aftermarket brand and I can not recall the brand. We had four rifles all different, same charging handle, and all had problems all day.
The M77 is a blot action center fire rifle. His issue is the scope not the ejection. I never noticed an issue on mine but I will look and see if there may be an answer.
lots of folks are doing it on rem 700, not much on rugers

It's usually a gunsmithing job from what I've seen. They'll turn down/reduce the size of the knob and add an oversize or longer knob. Sometimes they cut the handle and replace with a new one.
I had one done to a 700 and to be honest I really don't care for it. You start to get bolt bind because of the added length of the handle. Messes with your rapidfire.
Maybe take a look at getting a taller set of rings. Probably easier/faster/cheaper and no permanent alteration to the rifle. Just a thought.
This is the gunsmith I use.

Send me a PM and we can get together when you bring the gun up. He is only a few miles from the Grove City, PA, Exit 24 on Interstate 80
