Had a large group on Saturday with a lot of Scouts and a lot of loaner rifles. The poor pumpkin and zucchini didn't stand a chance especially when the large bore rounds stated in. The weather wasn't great but a lot better than the last Corona shoot when they were laying on muddy wet mats. It was great to see bob210 at the shoot with his dress and flintlock going of during the lunch break in conjunction with the three strikes. The scouts were real troopers and worked hard. Pat battled for two days but game out the victor and earned her Riflemen patch, congratulations. As always we had a great group and a lot of fun.

Thanks for getting the AAR started rrhartley. We had a fantastic time as always this weekend. The weather was fantastic and we had a great group of students and instructors. On Saturday we were joined by a group of about 20 Venture Scouts who were both enthusiastic and great examples in their execution of rifle safety. Congratulations to Pat for joining the ranks of the California riflemen. I knew she had a patch in her near future when I saw her beautiful mid Sunday morning squares. Congratulations also to Jake, Nick and Sam, who all posted extraordinary AQT scores, some with an M44 bolt action.
Please feel free to post any pictures you took from this weekend. We look forward to seeing returning shooters at an upcoming event.
We had a great Appleseed. The only bummer is that so many came so close to a Rifleman score but just barely missed it. Sam topped out with a 206, Nick with a 209... Just a little persistence and you'll have it.
Here's a few pictures from the shoot:

But soft, what light through yonder windshield breaks? Why it is the east, and Appleseed is the sun!

Success! Pat sneaks across the North Bridge to join the ranks of the California Riflemen! Congratulations!
Yet another AMAZING experience at Appleseed... not that I expected any different. Thank you to all the instructors that came out to encourage and, at times berate in a friendly manner (Jeff... I'm lookin' in your direction). Rocketman... It was actually worse than that. I topped out with a 208, not a 206... though after looking at the target, it was a very generous 208. I can't wait to get back out with my rifle and earn that patch and hopefully the orange hat afterwards.
Jake got some great pictures over the weekend... He'll hopefully be posting those soon!

Ya know... I actually wrote 208, then went back and changed it. "No way was it that close," I thought, "I must have got it mixed up." #)
You'll get it. Just a little deeper into the Rifleman's Bubble and you'll get it. :---
This was a great event! It was nice to see sooooo many colored hats, everyone was so friendly and full of knowledge! My first Corona event, and i'm hooked! Looking forward to more event here! O0
This was a great shoot! It was a pleasure to spend the weekend with Americans who got off the couch and out to the range despite some chilly (for So Cal) weather. I was really impressed by the progress of the shooters, a number of whom had never shot before. Having the scouts and the other younger shooters on the line was was great. You are the future and I hope to see you all back again soon.
Congraduations to our new riflewoman, Pat, who arrived with rusty, but solid skills, a highly teachable attitude and tenacious persistence that paid off. I also saw very solid shooting by the group who posted heartbreaking 206's, 208's and 209's. If we had had time for one more AQT on Sunday we would likely have two more new Riflemen and a bolt action requalify. Well done! next time for sure.
Happy Holidays to all,
Robert
Thanks for all the help and encouragement. I had a great time. I really enjoyed learning all the little things that improved my groups. I can't wait to get back to the range after Christmas and practice them. I was especially impressed with the fact that all the instructors seemed to try to help all the shooters improve. My thanks to everyone and happy holidays.
Pat
