Title: Inexpensive loaner slings on sale - Cabela's
Post by: nyrasgt on December 10, 2011, 09:05:47 AM
Ladies and Gentlemen,
Don't usually do commercials, but Cabela's selling Winchester 1" (I know, we prefer 1.25"...nevertheless...) nylon slings WITH swivels for $4.88.  Item # 1K-230830.
As I said, excellent loaners for the slingless who didn't read "What To Bring to an Appleseed."
Excelsior,
madMark

I also like CMP Garand slings for $7.95. Just do what Atticus always did - write "Stolen from Atticus" on them and they always come back.  ^-^

I used to write "Stolen from Atticus" on my slings, but I still kept losing them.  Atticus kept coming up with extras.  Go figure.

Again concur w. PH and TEd...
Could write "Stolen from Fred" on the slings, but that would guarantee none would (ever) come back;  stolen from madMark  or nyrasgt a little less of an attractive nuisance...
Will have to see what Numrich Arms/Gun Parts Corp in West Hurley, NY is charging these days - they're the third inexpensive source for cotton/nylon slings...and waiting for Midway to reduce their Pro mats to $29.99 as they did for Black Friday sale...
Excelsior,
mad
PS  Anyone hear any more about the rumor that CMP is in process of acquiring huge qualtity of .308/7.62 ammo?  So much (says my usually reliable source) that CMP considering converting some of their Garands to .308 (as the Navy did after WWII).  Just thought I'd ask...

WhataCountry.com sells cotton AR15/M16 slings if you prefer cotton over nylon. http://whatacountry.com/ar-15m16slings.aspx    These are used and sell for $3.95. IMO these are in near excellent condition. They do NOT come with swivels. Its best to order multiple things from them as they charge a flat $10.95 for shipping (USPS flat rate box). One might be VERY interested in their selection of AR15/M16 magazines! O0    I have ordered from this place multiple times with no trouble.

If you would like to see what these slings look like, I have these on my Ruger 10/22s and Marlin 795 I usually bring to an Appleseed as possible loaners.
