I've been messing around with my 10/22's, and had no idea how to easily remove/replace the safety plunger. After doing a little bit of googling, I found this:
Gunsmitherâ„¢ - 10/22 Safety Tool (http://www.gunsmithertools.com/gunsmither-1022-safety-tool/)
It's a neat little tool - makes it easy to push out all the pins. But it has two more features I thought were really cool - it comes with a "cheater pin" for reassembling the trigger, and it makes it much easier to remove the safety plunger. I already had a cheater pin, but I was always afraid of losing it. Plus, the plastic body is the same diameter of the safety plunger, and it makes the job a heck of a lot easier.
The whole thing is the size of a pen, it has a removable/reversible metal punch tip, has the removable metal trigger cheater pin, and the black Delrin body. The $14.95 price is worth the cost of aggravation messing with triggers and safety plungers. As an engineer, I appreciate well-designed tools. I recommend it to anyone who frequently tears down 10/22's.
If its okay with you I'll try to add a link to this tool to the 10/22 section here as a nice tool to have for those folks who want to get to know their rifle better.
