Title: Booth at Pennsylvania Homeschool Convention?
Post by: Charles McKinley on November 16, 2011, 05:30:26 AM
Would there be interest in having a booth at the CHAP (Christian Homeschool Association of Pennsylvania)convention?  http://www.chaponline.com/events/convention/

It is May 11-12, 2012. At the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg.  There are over 8,000 people attending this conference looking for ways to educate their children with the kind of message that Appleseed delivers.  (I've been there three times)

A lot of the people write blogs or are part of groups that may be able to help us fill the lines and may get us some new ranges.  This is really needed if we are going to have a shoot in every county as mentioned in another post.

The booth cost for the 2011 convention was $400.  There is an approval process to get in so we should start on it soon so we can get some staffing lined up and design a nice booth and decide what materials we can give out/sell.

If there is funding and interest I would be willing to do the footwork to set it up.

Thanks

Attention!

Stand has taken the lead on getting us into the CHAP (Christian Homeschool Association of Pennsylvania) convention in Harrisburg,  May 11-12.

Paperwork is being submitted (we have to be approved) and a budget is being worked out.

Stand and I will be there.  We need at least TWO more volunteers to staff the booth.

Also, the budget is very tight for this.  The closer you live $$gas, the better.

If you live in or near Harrisburg and can put any of us up for 1 or 2 nights let me know!

I'm down, just let me know when and were I need to, then once I get there point me in the right direction!
I'm a ways away from Harrisburg but I've been wanting to go there for some time this would be a good opportunity. Naw far as a place to stay, anywhere I can pitch a tent, or unroll a sleeping bag I'm good with.

I would like to take the time and say that the day I attended this, Friday, I felt went very well.  I was with Chainsaw, EZ3, GEmanuel, and Stand, I must say I had no idea what to expect going there, but I really feel strongly about the cause, and I am always down to do whatever I can where I can.  Honestly when I saw what it was, alot of people selling books, I started off the day a bit discouraged. But I must say it went betther than I though it would, infact it went fantastic and I know personaly I must have talked to almost 200 people. We made a lot of new contacts and even possable a few new places to host appleseeds, even possable the first AmishSeed, I coin that one. I can only imagine that Saturday was even better, and I look forward to hearing how it went. Great Job Stand, and thanks for having me there, if you need anything else let me know.
