Title: Winslow, NJ - Nov 5th & 6th.
Post by: VietVet on November 08, 2011, 01:52:28 PM
Another huge THANK YOU to the South Jersey Shooting Club for allowing us to run another Appleseed there.

Weather was beautiful. Shooters showed up very eager to learn and learn they did. We had two shooters come down from Long Island (no, not the Instructors). Rick and his son Dan made the 4 hour drive to take part in this event. First time Appleseeders. We had 7 on the line Saturday. Anton came from Philly. This was the second time he was at Winslow. Almost a major problem here. He had everything he needed but forgot the key to his trigger lock. Luckily I was able to put some of my unspoken about skills to work and managed to get it off.
It was the shooters that made this event what it was, a total success. All had the right attitude. So thanks to all. You guys made being a Shoot Boss easy.

I also have to thank Brad (bravo_juliet_mike) another Long Island resident who agreed to make the trip with me down to Winslow to IIT.

Joe is our newest Rifleman. He shot a 212 on the second AQT on Saturday. Mike was really knocking on that door. He shot a 206 with a bolty.

I'll get the photos posted shortly. Having a problem with the computer right now.

This was a great event. The range is an outstanding facility, thanks to South Jersey Shooting Club for hosting this event. Rich will post up some pictures later. There are also some photos on the range's facebook page. Here's a link: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.312911625391044.98729.127614170587458&type=3

Shooters, you guys were great. We can't do these events without you, so go out and spread the word about the good time you guys had at Appleseed. I'm proud of all of you for coming out to learn about marksmanship and your history and heritage.

Nice job by all,

Mike - 206 with a bolt rifle, nice work. Verify NPOA after working the action each time. Your on the mark.

To those of you that traveled, thank you, as you have heard this weekend, others traveled great distances to save our nation, and they did it by foot.

Nice pictures and posting of them on Facebook for addition exposure. O0

Thank you all for what you do.

New IIT here. I was looking at the first picture posted by VietVet. The left side target on the Second Stage has a most interesting group to me. Im not sure I would know how to explain this group to the shooter. Any ideas or help? Mike

Although they were in the target area I'd say he has to control his breathing. Which was explained to him. A vertical line that looks like that indicates he didn't "Pause" his breathing before he squeezed the trigger.

FYI....I knew when I posted that photo most likely this question would be asked.
Nice catch Mr.Freedom.
