Yet another good shoot at the mecca of Texas shoots.
We had 14 shooters show up on Saturday with about 11 back on Sunday.
The weather was great for a change, around mid 80s instead of the usual 100 plus feel like dying.
I hitched a ride out with Reliable, who bought out his other grandson Matthew this time instead of Andrew. I was pleased to get out my youngest boy, Steven, for his second shoot. I do believe Steven now has the Appleseed bug. He was actually out doing dry fire this afternoon. ;)
Hawkhavn was out this weekend and it was good to see him out in the desert area known as Texas. We went over some IT stuff that I've been working on. I actually spent all of Sat on a stupid computer getting my laptop setup do I could do some show and tell with Hawk. (I have all my stuff on my desktop so it took hours just to get the laptop ready to go, what with server setup, blah, blah, blah.)
Sunday I did get out with the shooters though. I was glad I did. We had some great folks out. I wish I could remember all their names but I don't. I was too busy thinking about computer junk. But they were a great crew.
We gave out 4 patches. Not too shabby for 14 shooters.
Wolf, a newly minted RH, did all 3 strikes as we wanted to see how he did on that. He did great. I still remember back when I talked him in to taking the Orange. He told me "I'll never be able to get all that stuff down." I convinced him he could and he did. Way to go Wolf.
Also out was Reddot who I haven't seen in awhile. They've been keeping him busy running all over the place at work. He had a suprise Saturday morning when he was told the originally scheduled SB was sick and he was going to run the shoot. He did fine though. As always.
Our buddy Bill was out too. We might have to start calling him Reliable II since you can always count on him helping out. If the line clear on the left?
Scout was there most of the day Sunday and parts of Saturday. That man sure can get people motivated, although he didn't say much throughout the day. Kinda quiet fellow. ;D He knows how to make people laugh while still being deadly serious all at the same time.
I'd post some pics but my camera is old, decrepit, and no longer working. Kinda like it's owner.

What a great weekend! Fantastic shooters, beautiful weather, excellent instructors to work with.
Glad my first TX Appleseed was at the Davilla DAR.

I will be back as Adam said our dad hasnt earned his patch yet. I also figured out why when I was putting clicks on my M1A I was not getting the results I should have. When I started to clean the rifle the elevation knob on the rear sight almost fell off in my hand.
