What a great weekend for a shoot. The weather was great, if a bit windy. The attendees were great, ready & eager to keep moving all weekend. We had several participants from out-of-state and with 16 on the line we gratefully had to expand to a second bay for the first time this year. We also had several returning 'seeders. Eric, Rich & Zach returned to re-qualify; good to see them again. Larz was back for his 2nd & earned Rifleman on our 2nd AQT, Sunday. Congrats! Shortly thereafter Joe, another return Appleseeder, scored two 218s back-to-back to cement his Rifleman patch. Well done!
While we had 'only' 2 new Rifleman, we did see a huge improvement on the redcoats from Saturday to Sunday. We went from only 8 qualifying at 100y or above Sat morning, to 3 cleaning their redcoats, 7 making 400y or above, & 12 of 13 qualifying at at least 100y (and 1 still having trouble with his sites). Several guys were at the Rifleman doorstep & were knockin' on the door. Don't forget, a Rifleman persists. I'm sure the next time they'll be going home with a new patch.
In all we had 9 10/22s, 1 AR .22 conversion, 6 ARs & 1 M1A, a pretty good mix of rimfire & centerfire.
Thank you all for coming & i hope to see each of you again... like (shameless plug) the next Manheim Appleseed on November 19th & 20th?
