Sunday...
Great job Taylor and many thanks to Martin, RustyRed, Dicey, Crash and zamboni_driver for a good, amusing and safe shoot. This was my third AS and as usual it was a great time. ( with the usual moments of "forehead slapping" as I still gloss over one of the steps for a good shot). This one might have seemed a bit more fun as I finally qualified, 3 times ^:)^
At this age I should not be surprised but....practice is the key. If I want to be consistent, I need to practice. And practice right. I just missed qualifying at Gordon. One point off due to a fail to fire. Had to wait it out. I am soooo glad it worked that way. Made me determined to get it right. I realize it is not all about "the Patch". Still, I felt it was a hurdle I had to get over.
Rob, thanks for the tip on the ammo, and for the moral support (whether you knew it or not) as I worked on getting all the pieces put together. Good company. Oh, the secret ammo is CCI MiniMags. Tho , as always, your results may vary.
Less wind next time? Those dancing targets gave new meaning to the phrase "rifleman's dance".
And Martin, good advice on the sights. I never did adjust them.
Hah...I should never type anything on less than a full pot of coffee.
Congrats John, nice shooting. I believe you also had the "benefit" of dancing targets?
and to Paul, congrats on IIT3.
Rob, great score, how many rifles is this now?
I have one regret. I never did find an "artifact" from an opposing clan.
I would like to do a KD shoot sometime but rimfire is nice. I still had enough money left over to get chicken when I got home.....
Mike
It was a great weekend! Maybe a bit on the windy. According to the KD presentation, the wind must have been at least 20 mph ;)
Pictures from the first day..
Day Two, still windy, still could be warmer..
