The last Appleseed of the year in Chaplin produced no new Riflemen. However it did produce better shooters with the results on the Red Coat "effective range" measurement at the beginning and end of this 1-Day event! We also saw some big improvements in AQT scores.
The Results:

Oh, and Kendra V missed one shot on the 300 yard silhouette of that final Red Coat, the only shot that she missed on the whole Red Coat. One shot from cleaning it!
How the day played out:
We began with the Safety Briefing then a red coat. We jumped right into teaching how to build a solid prone position and sling usage. We continued with the 6 Steps, Steady Hold Factors, NPOA, Ball and Dummy and IMC, with each spaced in between sighter groups. During lunch vernic82 gave us the First Strike, and CaptMac told the Second Strike. We started the afternoon with standing and sitting positions and safe transitions. We posted AQTs in the afternoon, and the shooters started seeing jumps in their scores. We took a rest from the shooting in the afternoon for Vernic82 to tell the Third Strike and CaptMac to tell about the D.O.M. The day ended with some more AQTs, a Red Coat and clean up, followed by DOM and The Benediction with a reminder to all to stretch, take a hot bath and some Aleve when they get home.
On Sunday, two of the shooters from Saturday came back. The prior day's instruction was covered briefly, then we proceeded to shoot some squares and AQTs. Breaking for lunch around noon, we gave a KD lecture, then placed targets at 100 and 50 yards, and shot our .22s to demonstrate the use of come-ups. THe afternoon ended with a few more AQTs, a final Red Coat and a short benediction, followed by clean up.
Some highlights:
1st Time AS'ers Kendra V and Mark V posted scores close to double of their first AQTs. Mark started shooting left-handed then turned around to try to shoot right handed. He never shot right handed before and shot sharpshooter scores. Kendra had only shot a rifle from a bench prior to this weekend.
Another first time ASer, Sterling B at times shot groups that could be covered with a coin.
With a little more practice all will soon to 210 - see you all at the next Appleseed!
Thanks goes to Fin, Fur & Feather Club for being great hosts.
Please post your pictures and comments!
And a final comment, I came home with a new green hat.
