Title: AAR Broken Bow, NE Oct 1-2, 2011

Way to go Broken Bow!!! What a weekend!

We had a beautiful weekend for Appleseed! The weather was awesome with sunny sky's and a lite breeze on Sat. With Sunday the same with a little more wind.

Seemed like everyone really enjoyed them selves. All who attended showed lots of improvement with their marksmanship. And walked away with a good idea of what it may have been like to stand their ground with a musket. Thanks to Flint Smoothbore. We had the opportunity to test out a .62 cal musket on a KD target posted at 100 yds. Needless to say this is way beyond the capability of the firearm. But a modern rifle, No problemo.

We even had a rifleman score produced shooting a 221. Way to go Doc! O0

Nebraska even acquired a new Instructor In Training! Thanks for stepping up Jim!

We also set a new record this weekend for the furthest traveling shooter at a NE Appledeed! Jeff came out to pay us a visit from California!! Holy cow now that's dedication!

What a weekend!

It was a good turnout and  a great weekend  (as far as October in Nebraska goes).  You can always tell a Nebraskan, slight breeze= minimum 10 mph full value wind.  We had to not only stake all targets but weight some of them to keep them from blowing around.  It was a good week end,  I think all participants had a great time and improved immensely as the weekend progressed .  Thank You to all participants, without you it would not have been a good weekend.

Thanks to all the instructors for all their time & effort- not just last weekend in Broken Bow, but for all the hours (and money!) they spend on Appleseed.  Each event I attend I learn a more marksmanship and a LOT more history. I'm glad to help any way I can, especially if it involves muzzleloaders!

How about a flintlock-only Appleseed? I'm thinking  each AQT would only take an hour or so...  ;D

The extra time is for the smoke to clear between shots!

Hate to be the one to break it to you Necede, but black powder is addictive...
