Title: Hosted my first shoot
Post by: deerslayer on September 11, 2011, 12:44:14 AM
We finished day one of our shoot today at Northwood.  Nice day, Vic and Johnny Appleseed did a great job of running the program.  Hopefully tomorrow, we'll have a few people make rifleman.  Ironic event of the day... two of use were shooting AR's with .22 conversions.  I remarked to the other AR shooter than these guns have a habit of breaking firing pins.... well, last target of the day, the AQT test, my rifle breaks its firing pin last shot of the standing stage.  Done for the day.  Fixed it tonight and ready to go for tomorrow.

One high school boy learned enough that he went from "hand" size groups to groups that could be covered with a thumb.

It sounds like you had a great time.  What a great weekend for a shoot.
I hope to hear about more Rifleman forged tomorrow.

You are all welcome to come down to Winterset October 15-16.

We had two riflemen today!  A fitting way I think to pass the 10th anniversary of 911.  Thanks to our appleseed volunteers to putting on a nice shoot.  Looking forward to scheduling our next one.
