Arkansas knows how to really put on a great Appleseed!  While this "yankee" is a little sunburnt and road-weary, I enjoyed my weekend down south!

Shooters - thank you to each of you for coming out this weekend.  We had kids, families, friends, novices, experienced shooters, and everyone in between on the line!  What a fantastic mix of Americans coming together to learn rifle marksmanship and our truly unique American heritage.  Everyone braved the Arkansas heat (how do you handle that all summer???!!!   ++) ) and had a great time.  Thank you for coming out.

A couple of other notes: congrats to our newest Rifleman!  Your brother sure looked proud!  And to our Texas instructor crew - thanks for putting in your own long drive time to come out and work with us.  It was an honor and a pleasure.  And Texas is blessed to have a new Orange Hat - Melissa, thanks for stepping up.  I expect to see you under a green hat in no time.   O0

A huge thanks to SigEp7182003 - aka Jason - for getting everything organized.  Arkansas is lucky to have you as it's newest Blue Hat and State Coordinator.  Keep up the great work!

Thanks again, everyone - and know that you're all welcome in Indiana any time.  Time for pics!

A different kind of scenery entering the range than I'm used to in the Hoosier state:

An impressive set-up on the KD range - how far away is that teeny, tiny target in the back?!   :o

Thanks to all the shooters who came out this past weekend.
One new rifleman and more importantly one new orange hat were forged in the Arkansas heat and humidty. Yes the range is right next to a swamp and in close proximity to the mighty Arkansas River. If not for the heat the skeeters would have surely carried us all off.
Had a great time meeting and working with all the shooters and fellow instructors.
Thanks to Bill and Amy for putting up with the long drive to get down here.
Look forwarding to seeing everyone again out on the trail.
I learned a lot this weekend !!
God Bless.
Dave

A great weekend full of eager shooters on their way to Rifleman and a big congrats to Mark on gaining his patch.  Thank you to the wonderful instructors that helped me move to IIT1.  A huge pat on the back and thank you to Jason who coordinated this Appleseed and worked hard to get shooters on the line....also congrats on the Blue Hat.  I look forward to now working many Appleseeds with Melissa.    Thank you Bill3 and AuntieBellum....maybe we'll catch up in Indiana and make my mom a Riflewoman so she'll stop thinking we're out pickin' apples.  Now to go find some lotion for this sunburn.

This was my first Appleseed and the wife and I had a great time! She doesn't get much exposure to the sunshine so she was pretty wiped out from the heat. I couldn't put her or her sunburn through another day of that, so we skipped the Sunday shoot. I feel bad I didn't get to personally thank all of you guys for your time and commitment but it is duly appreciated. I was really impressed with the instruction and how organized you all were. You Guys Rock! I am hooked and already planning my next Appleseed. I am practicing the fundamentals I learned and will be better prepared next time. Gotta get that patch!  Thanks Again All !
