Title: RCBS X Dies
Post by: TN_Dadx5 on August 15, 2011, 04:54:18 PM
I'm just getting into reloading and have picked up a press (kit) and I'm wondering about dies.  The first round that I'm going to reload is 308 for my AR-10.  I've read about most dies out there and I like the Lee PaceSetter set and the RCBS X Dies.  I like the idea of minimizing case stretch during resizing and trimming the case just once.  Minimizing steps is something that I like.  Has anyone worked with these before?

Yup, use Imperial sizing die wax and an X-die and you will be a happy camper.  5 reloads and haven't had to trim again yet...

Understand, your brass has to be trimmed to a specific length before you start to use the die, you can't run an oversized case into it and expect it to bump the OAL of the fired case back.

I've considered one of those for my 7.62mm reloads... let us know how you fare...
