Title: AAR Davilla, TX July 23-24
Post by: spmcpeek on July 25, 2011, 06:54:51 PM
Wow! What an excellent shoot at Scout's ranch.  While the weather was HOT (105+ both days) thirteen motivated Americans came out to learn about their history and improve their marksmanship skills.  By the end of the weekend, one Rifleman had emerged.  Congratulations to Kim with a score of 239!!  Congratulations also go out to Dan, who took his Orange Hat this weekend.

Thanks to all the instructors and attendees for making this another great event at Davilla!

I will post pictures later.

I had a really good time, but the heat was a little to much for this ol guy!  I really enjoyed the wonderful history lessons and made some great friends!  All of the red and orange hats were outstanding!!!!  I will definitely be back (when it is at least below 100 degrees) and I'll recommend the program when ever I get a chance.

Three cheers for the instructors.  Outstanding program.

239 is impressive anytime.   :~ :~ :~
But, in miserable +105 it is a true accomplishment.  Congratulations Kim.
Well Done! Pun intended.   O0

Ain't that the truth! Everybody looked like zombies by the end of Sunday. I sure was dragging my rear.

It was good meeting you and Kim.

I was really happy to see Americans that would get out and shoot two full days in the heat. It was an exceptional group of shooters. Despite the heat everyone was in a cheerful mood and didn't show any frustration when rifle malfunctions happened.

Thanks to all that came out, both instructors and shooters. There's hope for this country yet.

Laughing.  :P Well Done, heh. You could have stuck a fork in me. It was nice meeting your friend Steve from LA. He's a credit to Appleseed. Thanks for coming on down to Texas. We'll make you an honorary Texan eventually.  ;D

And thanks Dan for taking the hat. And tell Jordan he'll get that patch soon. His friend Brian was a nice young man too. Still plenty of good kids in this country.

Yep, another great shoot at Davilla, God bless Texas!

We were really lucky with the weather, the temperature maxed out at 104 degrees, thank goodness it didn't get to 105 or we would have been hurting.  Despite the heat, we ended up with Kim earning his Rifleman's patch; and he has already indicated he wants to become an Instructor!

Pistolgrip  has met the requirements to become an Instructor, he requested and received his Orange Hat ^:)^  Welcome aboard my friend.

We also had several people knocking on the Rifleman door and a lot of improvement over the weekend.  Keep praticing and you will get there...remember the Steady Hold Factors, NPOA, and the Six Steps to Firing the Shot, and dry fire, dry fire, and dry fire...

Until next time, keep those actions clear and I'll see you on the beach.
