it is indeed a bit late for posting this, but just now have the time to sit & review my list of stuff done on this event..... @@)
We have indeed wanted/needed to have an IBC out here in the IE....for a bit now....and I know it is harder these days for someone to come in fresh, never do an IBC/RBC, and just get all their info from OJT......the IBC/RBC's make it -much- easier for the IIT's to learn the material..... ..:..
West End Gun Club was -very- generous in letting us use their clubhouse/meeting house for our IBC, which meant we didn't have to do the whole "range thing", trying to be heard over the sound of gunfire....or dealing with "gate times"....it worked out well, and WEGC is doing what ever they can to help us in our goal of reaching more Americans with our message.....We look forward ot doing more IBC's here......Thank you again, Bruce!!!
That said, we had 8 happy participants on Saturday, falling off to 5 on Sunday, but -all- had a good learning experience (including the new SB!!), and possibly as important, everyone went away with a smile on their faces.....I truly believe if folks don't have a good time doing something, they most likely won't do it again....repetition is our best friend in this endeavor.....
We had folks come in from San Diego/Escondido area, as well as from as far West as Oxnard, to join arms & train together, the old & the new.....seemed like they ll had a good time, but I'll let them post their own experiences about it.....
Romeo, UpChuck, and Freeman were only able to give Saturday to our venture, but did very well, and learned "new stuff".....I expect to see them utilizing the knowledge at a range near them soon.....
ASMinuteman, BrassChucker, A.Q.T.Monster, NewMOe, Justin, 22calgal, Penny's Dad, StormN, and Zack all did a great job of working with each other, teaching, correcting, repeating, and encouraging one another....it made my job almost easy (except that danged time monkey!!I'm beginning to understand why JB hates monkeys so much!!).... ::) :wall: ;)
The "Mock-a-seed" was a bit "unusual", in that we had our "shooters" (Instructors that have dealt with some odd peculiarities in the past) really keeping our "RSO/LSO/LB/SBiT's working non stop to contain the craziness.....
Sitting in the back observing, I could not help myself....I had to step in a few times to be the "outa left field, who expected anything like that?" sort of moment for them.......And, I can now vouch for the fact that their heads are now on a -swivel-, watching any possible direction for any kind of disturbance..... ;D ;D %) :))
In closing, this was a good effort, particularly by my Instructors.....they met any of my requests with natural abilities, aplomb, and graciousness....even if it was something they hadn't done in a while....... >:D O0
We are looking forward to doing more of these.....just wish there was moe time to be abel to pour more "stuff" into the IIT's heads.....it would help them so much......gotta start working on my own "cheat sheet" to trim some time where needed....
