Red and Orange Hats,
I am not going to be there for this shoot in July. Buckeye Trapper said he will be there to set everything up and make sure everything runs smoothly (thanks Blair).
I had a mother call me wanting to sign up her son for shooting as it was something he wanted to do. He does not have a rifle and Ratchett assured me that someone there will have a spare for him. His name is Collin and I would feel a lot better if one of the instructors spoke up and let me know here or by PM that they were coming and were bringing a rifle for him. I would hate to ruin his weekend and I told mom "we" would take care of him equipment wise. She is aware she would have to reimburse for ammo.
Thanks and have fun on the 16th and 17th! See you in September!
Slim, you are the shoot boss here. No one has signed up to help as yet---only 4 pre-regs right now. I will be in PA. I will however make arrangements to get a rifle to you for this young man if there is no other one available. Can bring a brick of ammo too. He will have a rifle one way or another!!
Ratchett
Of course we'll find that young man a rifle. :---
I encourage anyone and everyone reading this post - don't let equipment issues stop you from coming to an Appleseed event. If you don't have a rifle or you don't have the right rifle, contact someone, ANYONE!!!, and we'll get you a loaner rifle, shooting mat, sunscreen, whatever, for the event.
Almost all of us volunteers have a rifle or two (or 12!) to loan out to participants. We're overjoyed when someone raises their hand and says, "pick me. I want to shoot!" That's why we do this Appleseed thing. We do it to spread the 'seed and get more folks involved. Don't stay home just because you don't have something. And don't be scared to ask. We VOLUNTEER the use of that stuff. It's our pleasure to do so.
And don't forget to bring your friends! Like I said, we have more than one!
