Title: Public Outdoor Range
Post by: Piker on June 28, 2011, 12:17:57 PM
May be going to Daytona in October. Wife is in online grad school so there will be at least 2-3 days (more even) where she has to work on that all day long.

Are there any public ranges in the Daytona/Orlando area that allow position shooting like we do? Most indoor shooting is "Standing" only. Most of the ranges in the area are also private.

Looking at joining a club that prorates membership dues and then just not renewing, but that seems a little low down. Then again they might like 150 bucks for me using it 3 or 4 times.

Been using that with a Daytona zip. Lots of ranges but the outdoor rifle ones are private. The public outdoor ones are mostly trap, skeet, sporting clays etc.

Guess I'll just stand indoor at the Bass Pro down there. Keep at it till I can clear a Redcoat from standing.

West of Daytona on SR 40 at Forest Road 88 there is a public range that will allow position shooting.

Let me know if you can make it and we can make a day of it.
