The fires that burn for Liberty are burning a little brighter today...fueled by the 16 motivated shooters who took to the firing line this weekend at the El Paso Community College Law Enforcement Academy's Indoor Range. O0 :bow: O0
From 9 year old Alan to 70+ year old Mariano Sr., this was a family affair. All of our shooters were steadily improving in the fundamentals of Rifle Marksmanship by the first AQT of the day, Saturday.
Nick A was the first to break the barrier of the AQT with a 217. Followed immediately with a 225!

Nick also accepted an Orange hat for Appleseed in the West Texas/Southern New Mexico Area!!!

We were truly blessed to have Milt and Margie B.(duc-dog and Appleseed Widow) step up to reinforce our Instructor cadre on Saturday! While, JustJeff, BOOMER_EOD, Grizzled One, Johnny E (EPCC Liason) and I held the Fort on Sunday.
Sunday morning 9 of our awakening Americans returned to brave the AQT Grind! At 9:30 they faced the morning Red Coat and By 11:00 we had reviewed the fundamentals, confirmed our sighting and began the AQT Grind!!!

On the second AQT of the day, young Alan shot his best score of the day- a 129 qualifying as a Marksman!

Two AQT's later Osvaldo A blasted out a 238 making our second Rifleman of the weekend!

Everyone was steadily progressing toward the elusive Rifleman patch when our day ended. :'(
I am looking forward to seeing many of these fine folks on the Firing Line again soon.

There's a guy in three of those pics that looks like me, except bigger. Man, I guess the camera does add ten pounds, which is okay as long as it's ammunition!
Congratulations to all who attended and Jerry and the NM crew who supported the event. Jerry is one of the best in the area and a great standard bearer for the program. And sincere thanks to the NM crew for supporting Texas' far flung outpost. EPCC is a great range and Johnny is a most gracious host for our program.

It's always a pleasure to spend range time with Americas finest. Jerry is a class act and under his hand we might get EP self sustaining again. With the help of some old hands and some new blood stepping up, we will get there sooner rather than later. Great group of shooters. Congratulations to those that made "Rifleman". There were several knocking at the door. With a little practice and lots of dryfiring they will make it at the next shoot. Remember only "perfect practice makes perfect".
