glad I could help out... We had a fine group of shooters on the line today, I wish you all the best for tomorrow! (and don't forget to send a recruiting team to the Calgunners-next-door!)
Really enjoyed the Saturday session! What a great opportunity to get outside, improve my shooting skills, meet fellow gunners, and pay honor to those who sacrificed so that we can enjoy our freedoms in the greatest country in the history of man!

Thanks for posting the pics Calrug.
Gratefuldog, Thanks for helping out today.
Just a quick add... Today I was almost fully prepared, but not quite. I needed to adjust my sights but didn't have my basic tools with me, fortunately another student lent me the tool. The second item was elbow pads, if you have a shooting jacket, or thick sleeves, or thick enough enough shooting blanket, separate pads aren't needed, just make sure to bring something for those elbows!
I whipped up an "Appleseed To-Bring Checklist" - download and print it out here: http://www.4shared.com/document/cse6L7gW/APPLESEED_CHECKLIST_1.html (http://www.4shared.com/document/cse6L7gW/APPLESEED_CHECKLIST_1.html)
Hello all :)
What an awesome weekend! Thanks to Johnny Appleseed and Grateful Dog for putting on a great shoot! I am tired and a little sun burnt, but couldnt have asked for a better way to spend Father's Day weekend. Congratulations to Chris became a rifleman on the first shoot of the day on Sunday! As well as Chuck who scored rifleman as well, and your son Mike is well on his way! Everyone else it was so nice to meet all of you and thanks for not making me feel like I was the only girl on the shoot Sunday (even though I was ;) ) So blessed to have great weather, GREAT instruction, and such an awesome group to shoot with. I am even more blessed to have been fortunate enough to have been born in the greatest country in the history of the world!

Chris, age 14, is the first to earn the Rifleman patch today.

Emily is determined to wear the patch, because everyone else in her family already has theirs!

A great Father's Day line up - 3 Dads with one of their kids showed up today!
Thanks for posting all the pics Calrug!
Thank you to all who made this weekend possible. This was a really fun way to spend Father's Day weekend, learning the finer points of marksmanship with my kids. Annie Oakley thanks for the snacks. Great Tangelos! Cal Ruger thanks for the great pictures, I shared them with my staff today and already have two guys interested in attending a shoot.
The rifles that we brought were not ideal for shooting AQT's. I probably would not have been able to earn my Rifleman and Mike his Sharpshooter if Johnny Appleseed had not lent us a couple firearms. It was a beautiful day, I appreciated the safe and comfortable atmosphere and met some nice folks. I especially enjoyed the history lesson and readings between the shooting.

Hey Paul Revere, Glad you made it ..:.. Just wanted to say you have an awesome family! High five to Mike who came out the second day and showed so much enthusiasm and perseverance, I know he will make rifleman next time but the progress he showed was awesome. I hope next time Natalie will feel like shooting, we can always use some more girlies, and I am glad to hear you have already got some more folks interested in coming! Congrats again on your rifleman score!
Looks like Annie Oakley changed her name. Good, as there are (were) 3 Annie's. Now we can keep track of her O0 Keep going Prudence on the path to RWVA instructor. I like to work with beautiful instructors, as opposed to to your dad ^:)^

Hey Colycat,
Fortunate I got my mother's good looks :D I am very excited about the prospect of becoming rifleman as well as an IIT. It was a frustrating shoot for me as I seem to have hit a plateau, and wasn't able to get past a score of 190. It has been a couple years since I had picked up a rifle, so I need somewhat of a more focused approach and really when all is said and done practice makes perfect! Hope to see you soon and I must say this forum is really a great way of communicating since my whole family is on here!
I had a great time at this Appleseed. Thanks to Richard aka "Johnny Appleseed" and Emily for setting this up so close to home. It was a great way to spend Father's Day. I qualified rifleman early (my score was 212), so Richard let me do a little bit of unofficial IIT work. I learned the line commands, learned how to clear the line, and I got to watch the line for a little bit. I'm looking forward to going to other Appleseeds and doing official IIT work! ;D
Hi All,
Finally got on here. It was a very fun learning experience. Thank you Johnny Appleseed for the name. Learnt a lot, being the first time I have ever held a rifle. Thanks to RockChucker for lending his gear. I will try to keep practicing when I can and try to make rifleman next time.
Thanks to all organizers.
