The inaugural shoot at the new Dadeville range was a successful one, with many more to come.
Saturday saw 12 shooters on the line, and on Sunday 8 shooters showed up, despite the threatening rain (which never did happen, although it poured on me on early Sunday morning).
Because of personal conflicts, Dinky was kind enough to run the shoot on Saturday, so she and Ian can report on how that went. I drove down Sunday morning to run things and we ended up with a pretty good day. Started out cool and rainy but quickly heated up and dried out.
The shooters knew what we were doing by Sunday so we did some quick review and then right into the AQTs. We threw in some drills to hammer out some issues, Ian told some history, and then back to the AQTs! We had one shooter that had been knocking at the door, and finally managed to pull it together Sunday afternoon. Congrats Heather! Missouri's newest Riflewoman! At her first Appleseed to boot.
As it neared 5pm and we were winding up, the shooters insisted we shoot another AQT! Who was I to argue?
To top it off, I had the pleasure of awarding CelticMind (Ian) his Red Hat. Doesn't get much better than that for a SB. Congrats Ian!
I look forward to future shoots at the Dadeville range. Great facility, with a great host. Next shoot, KD baby!
See you all on the trail...
Greg
Thank you Dinky and Greg. I really enjoyed watching you instruct at my first shoot as an orange hat.
I got a few pics from the shoot I meant to post earlier. Here's the link.
