Title: M14 pistol grip stock...finished
Post by: LabRat on April 10, 2008, 01:16:53 PM
Just thought I would post a pic of the stock I got from Ted (Shootus Maximus here).

I finished it out and painted it according to his helpful instructions and it turned out pretty well.

Very nice!

I have built two stocks, both using Fred's fiberglass stocks.
One is a Dragunov, awesome shooter but a little bulky ( and currently for sale).  The other a standard pistol grip very similar to yours.
Fiberglass is great stuff, forgiving and easy to work. If I could figure out my blasted camera I would post photos.

The only real hitch is that the military stock has a steel shank in the pistol grip area which is a bitch to cut thru accurately.

Kool-Aid and I each bought one of these stocks in a bit of a "horse trade" in MT last year.  I got mine mounted in Wyoming later at a RBC, and haven't taken it off since.

Shootimus Maximus does great things with these.

We also this year helped Gromet out in MT by bondo-ing a forward stop onto his stock where his hand wants to rest.  The end result was no more vertical stringing by said shooter.

Get your pistol grip stock today.  I have one on order for my NM M14 as we speak.  Hope to pick it up in the fall.
