Thank you so much!!

I felt bad for him that we could not get him over the hump to a Rifleman score before he left for Basic Training. I gave him an Appleseed oval and told him to remember everything he learned, it would be enough. Apparently it was.

Good job Griff!!

Excellent job!  I knew we didn't have to worry a bit when he was ringing steel at 100 yards standing!

Congratulations!

A fun note to add, during our class that taught us how to shoot, they kept giving techniques that went against Appleseed teachings, so when I got up on the line I ignored them and went back to breathing/laying like I learned in Appleseed, luckily the line boss didn't mind and didn't bother to correct me.  I was shooting quarter groups from the beginning and I hadn't shot in ~6 weeks at that point! :D

Not sure how I pulled off honor grad, but I am very thankful I got it!

Well, they didn't just give it to you.  It means you're one 'squared away' young man, and learned what they taught you (that which you didn't already know).

Let this be a lesson to all of us.  We did not give this young man a patch.  What he learned at an Appleseed put him in a position to earn a different kind of patch.  Who took his shots for him?  No one.  He took them.  What did he learn that he was not WILLING to learn?  Nothing.  He was willing to learn everything.  Does anyone remember the vast, insufferable ego he brought with him?  No, because he left it at home.  We did not make him a Rifled Man, he made himself that way.

We can all complain about our country wasting away but that will only distract us from winning.  If we do our jobs, we can help people make themselves better.  They can export what they learn at Appleseed and, when tested, be a winner.  This, ladies and gentlemen, is a winner we can all be proud of.

SPQR, well said.

Griffeycom, congratulations.  Well deserved, Rifleman.   You are a true Patriot, indeed.  Thank you for serving Lady Liberty and defending Her borders.  O0
