Title: AAR: Chaplin, CT May 28
Post by: vernic82 on May 30, 2011, 04:58:21 PM
7 shooters at this 1st years 1st shoot at Chaplin produced no new Riflemen however it did produce better shooters with the results on the Red Coat "effective range" measurement at the beginning and end of this 1-Day event!

The Results:
Morning (7 shooters)                                               Day 1 Afternoon
100 yd       200yd:      300yd     400yd      PS                   100 yd       200yd:      300yd     400yd      PS
      4                1              1           0           1                           5                3              3           2           1

How the day played out:

We began with the Safety Briefing then a red coat.  We jumped right into teaching how to build a solid prone position and sling usage. We continued with the 6 Steps, Steady Hold Factors, NPOA, Ball and Dummy and IMC, with each spaced in between sighter groups. During lunch vernic82 gave us the First Strike and then we started the afternoon with standing and sitting positions and safe transitions.  Then went into talking targets, The Rifleman's Dance,  a trigger drill and the fundamentals of KD as well as a few more sighter groups.  After which we posted 8 AQTs in the afternoon, a full day indeed!  The day ended with us cleaning up & hearing vernic82 deliver the Second & Third Strikes followed by DOM and The Benediction with a reminder to all to stretch, take a hot bath and some Ibuprofen when they get home.

Some highlights:

1st Time AS'ers Andy D., John L., J.P., Hutch & Greg posting several low 200 scores - if we had one more day there's no doubt most would have topped 210 - see you all at the next Appleseed!

Returning shooter, Hutch 7th stepping his friend Brad!

A big thanks goes to Fin, Fur & Feather Club, our hosts and Cindy who showed up and cooked up a delicious lunch!

Please post your pictures and comments!

Yours in Liberty,

Is that enough photos to meet the burden of proof that something actually happened?

Sounds like a good event.  Sorry I couldn't make it.
