It was a beautiful summery weekend in Tuscaloosa AL. Saturday morning we started with 11 eager individuals on the line. Our day started with great history given by 4merUSMC1803.
As the day heated up so did our participants. Through the heat and the day they and the instructors all persevered. In the afternoon two Riflemen were hammered out on the AQT Anvil, Mike H. and Brian M. Three junior patriots were recognized for their perseverance and efforts on the line, Dennon J., Presley L. and James R. At the close of the day we all heard a stirring benediction by Friedenmeister.
Sunday we had a paired down line. With four shooters retaking the line. Duhon provided instruction in the morning, which helped fire up the line. The heat had been turned up and all the shooters worked their tails off. During hydration breaks Cadman provided some more great history to the line.
Speaking for myself I enjoyed the weekend immensely. All the shooters were a pleasure to work with. Special thanks to Joe M. who was the range representative and provided a great facility for us.
Thank you all!

Thanks to the Tuscaloosa Gun Club, and especially Joe M., for hosting a great weekend! In spite of the OPPRESSIVE heat, it was a great weekend for an Appleseed-no torrential downpours, thunderstorms, or tornados. It was really great to see so many returning shooters from previous Appleseeds, two of whom earned their Rifleman credentials. Several others were knocking on the door in the 190-204 range. Keep at it guys; a rifleman persists. As for the new attendees, it was a pleasure to work with everyone. Good, teachable attitudes and very safety minded. Also worth another mention is the fathers & grandfathers who got the junior shooters out. We love having the youths come out and learn about the history and marksmanship. BamaNurse and Gnat, thanks for coming out on Sunday; it was wonderful to see both of you again. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone in the fall, if not before, at another venue.
Here are some photos from Sunday:
