Title: From the Tri-Cities, New to Appleseed and looking to help.
Post by: Nex Quietus on April 18, 2011, 11:43:10 PM
My friend and I attended our first Appleseed this weekend.  He shot Rifleman, and I was knocking on the door.  I'm not 100% sure of his name on these forums, but I imagine he'll chime in here shortly.  We are in the Tri-Cities, and would like to help get things going here.
We were sent from the Coeur d'Alene shoot with a load of pamphlets, great instruction and an awakened passion for this project, and I'd like to hope a new friend or two.
I'd like to get in touch with anyone else from the Tri-Cities and see what we can get going, and see what has been done so far.  I already have a friend that has been talking with someone from the Rattle Snake range, and I was thinking of talking to the folks at the Silhouette Association.

So, chime in and say Hi and maybe give me / us some guidance on what has worked where you are to get things going.

Great post Nexquietous. And thanks for posting about my rifleman status.

He's right though folks. What an honor to be a part of Appleseed.

I know we both look forward to helping the cause any way we can here in the Tri-Cites and what we can do help promote Appleseed here in town, Washington state, and the N.W.

Great to see you both on here!

I'm sure you'll be hearing from 06en, the Washington State Coordinator, soon.

Another person on the forum from the Tri-Cities is "Sparkss". He attended the Appleseed in Bickleton (April 9-10).

NQ & Crosshairs - Good to see you two on here and looking forward to seeing you on the line again soon.  In the meantime, if you are interested in getting involved, you may want to send a PM to 06en since he is the new State Coordinator for WA.  He was talking recently about hosting a table at some upcoming gun shows.  If you would be willing to volunteer in this manner I'm sure your willingness would be appreciated.

See you on the trail!

I dropped off some pamphlets and Tri-folds at work, then Columbia Gun rack, and some more to a friend who wants to give them to some friends of his at work.  At this rate, we may need a material re-supply... lol

NQ,
Every time i go out the range(sand pit on the river) i take a pile of red coats or AQTs with me and if someone shows any interest in what i am shooting at they get handed a target that has the Website address and schedule of upcoming shoots on it. I then challenge them to come to a shoot to learn how to shoot it correctly. It also has my email address and telephone number.
Just something to get the 7th step going.

Nex,  when you get a chance and Easter is over, lets sit and brainstorm the spots here in town to talk to.  (btw - I need some of those pamphlets, etc.)

Jerry - good to run into you here.  How often do you make it up to the T-C?

06en - glad to see we have our own state coordinator now.  I look forward to getting to know you here and help out how Nex and I can.

OnlyHits - great to connect with you here as well as on the line last weekend.  Thanks for the brownies!  We're close enough in miles to be working on stuff with you.  Just let us know.  ;)

Nex,
We get up to TC about once a week depending on what is needed. If you want to schedule a brainstorming session or something let me know and I'll try to make it. I work a modified DuPont schedule so my schedule changes every week but i do get a week off every five. So let me know what you want to put together and I'll do my dangdest to make sure i can be there.

A brainstorming session sounds good.  I'll send out some PMs and we can look at particulars.

There's a lot of stuff going on in Southwest Washington.  Are you still trying to get things off the ground in the Tri-Cities area?  Is there anything we can do to help?  I know a couple SW Washintonians that have connections in Walla Walla.

Looking to membership up there, then RSO with them this winter...then I will be able to do the RSO for that range to get AS set up there.

Most excellent.  And if we can get the original posters to 7th step and work toward orange hats, then everything hopefully will be in place when the range comes online for Appleseed.

An email might be the best way to get in touch with them again.

hey Appleseeders,
Have been seventh steppin every chance i get. This was a brutal, longest, most expensive, outage in our history here at work. And we were down several guys so we have been shothanded left and right. 72 hours a week was a short week here this year.  So now that things are getting somewhat back to normal would like to get some meetups done and approach some of the ranges in the tricities area. Let me know if anyone has some time to get together and let's get this thing moving forward again.
