What a great weekend for Appleseed. We had beautiful weather with clear blue skies, cool temperatures, and little wind. Things ran very smoothly with a total of 8 AQTs shot throughout the weekend.
This was really a great group of shooters. Everyone was enthusiastic, energetic, and had great attitudes. We saw scores steadily climbing throughout the weekend. The final redcoat on Sunday, with 6 shooters, had 2 who cleaned it!
We had 13 shooters total. TravelPatriot shot rifleman 4 times (with a high score of 232!) and has also stepped up and taken the Orange hat. He's truly a welcome addition to the Appleseed family.
Another shooter, Chuck, steadily improved his shooting and finished Sunday with several AQTs that were extremely close, one at a 207. He also brought his son, Walker, and another shooter, Jerry, brought his grandson, Devin. They were a joy to have, soaking up information and improving their shooting skills. It's wonderful to see the future generation of Americans learning their heritage and practicing riflery.
Both cswhitfield and Adam are owed thanks for their Chili that they brought and served. Lunch time was like a Chili cookoff. They both produced Chili that was among the best I've had in years.
Thank you to all who came. We hope to see you back at another event really soon.
Pictures should follow shortly.

Photos from Waco.
I had a great time yesterday! Special thanks to Cswhitfield for the extra attention. It really helped to have a second person view of where I need improvement. I will definately be back.
BTW... Where is the picnic table relocation pic?! ;D
Way to go Travel Patriot! ..:.. ..:.. ..:..
Was great to see two young shooters, Devin and Walker giving it their all out there.
Was outstanding to see Shaftoe in action as Acting Shoot Boss. CSWhitfield, you are always a Gent, and good to see the crew from my first shoot in Columbiana: 4mrUSMC, Bagel and FreidenMiester.
Travel, you may have shot more rifleman scores than me, but I still have the highest between us at 239 ;)
Shaftoe, your Benediction was from the heart and a message that all in this country need to hear.
Not going to say whose chili was better, Adam's or Craig's but ate both, and would do so again!
Heard we may have a Jungus among us knocking on the door.
Hondaman, your eyes did not deceive, that is an original carburetor model 2nd generation Prelude.
Chuck: 3 MOA right, just saying. O0
Great instructors, great fun! Looking forward to learning and advancing through the instructor corps.

Thanks to all of the folks who showed up for a weekend of history, heritage and marksmanship. You guys, and lady, were great. It was a special pleasure to have Walker and Devin. You are two fine young men. We hope to see you again at another Appleseed soon. Thanks also to the Red and Green Hats. You gentlemen were a pleasure to work with and learn from. Travel Patriot congrats on the multiple rifleman scores and the Orange Hat. I really believe you are a 240+ shooter and I know you are an asset to the program and mission.
Below are a few more pictures. We hope you all had a good time and will come to another Appleseed soon.

Agreed! This range is fantastic and we owe the WGYR a debt of gratitude.
Well guys Walker and I had a fabulous time! It was truly a great weekend.
Chris, I am enrolled in a basic counting class and will hopefully be able to shoot the "2,2,3,3" next time! We, and many more of my friends, will be back soon and I WILL break the 210 barrier!
The history was better than any book I have ever read. Hearing the stories told by people that share the same passions as those brave men and women in 1775 was quite a treat. The marksmanship teachings were the best I have every had. All the instructors were patient, and very knowledgeable. They molded their teachings to suit the skill levels of all the shooters present. From Travel Patriot, GREAT JOB!!!, all the way down to my 10 year old son... Good Job to all. I particularly was gratefully to the one-on-one teaching that I received. Several of the above pictures show a student shooting on a mat with an instructor up next to him helping with the fine details. As they say "The proof is in the puddin'". Well I say "The proof is on the target". The difference from my first AQT to the last told the news. It was quite remarkable. No, I am not bragging on myself... I'm bragging on Appleseed. It change my shooting... It change my mind... It's changing our country.
Take my advice and go to an event soon, you will not regret it!

Sorry for no pictures... I was busy shooting :~
And by the way... Piker, your right. I was looking over the 207 AQT and I do need a 3 MOA adjustment to the right. Shaftoe and I moved it a couple of times, but evidently not enough. As Arnold says "I'll Be Back!"

Sorry for the late follow up. Anyways I enjoyed the Appleseed event in Waco as always. Thanks to all of the instructors and the West Georgia range for allowing us to use their facility. Looking forward to seeing everyone at the Columbiana event in April. Keep Liberty Alive!
